Abstract1: This report gives guidance on fire safety aspects of the use of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and similar fluoropolymers in buildings, particularly for roofing. The guidance is based primarily on results of a research project to establish the potential hazards to fire fighters and the public from fires involving structures containing PTFE-based materials.
