Abstract1: Wireless and tagging technologies have been used successfully in several sectors of industry. Their potential for costs savings and productivity improvement for construction is estimated to be hundreds of millions of pounds. The two parts of this paper give the findings of a scoping study to evaluate the potential for the use of information and communication technologies within the supply chain of the construction industry, and, in particular, in the logistics of construction related products.
