Abstract1: Reports on the performance of samples of a number of building materials exposed for three to four years at a weathering site in the hot dry climate of Dubai in the Middle East. The materials studied included plastics sheets and extrusions, cement sheets reinforced with inorganic-fibres, flexible synthetic sealants, surface coatings on rendered blockwork and on wood composite boards, and coated and uncoated metals.
