BS 4278 details collar eyebolts in the 0.25 tonnes to 30 tonnes SWL range, eyebolts with links in the 1.0 tonnes to 6.3 tonnes SWL range and dynamo eyebolts in the 0.25 tonnes to 10.0 tonnes SWL range. Metric dimensions and threads are specified for all three types. Advice on appropriate forging selections and SWL ratings when screwing eyebolts with imperial threads is also given as well as suggestions for the correct selection and safe selection, care and use of eyebolts are provided; however, eyebolts with a shank thread smaller than M12 are not included.
