British Standard 4882:1990 specifies general requirements and dimension details for metric and inch series of bolting for flanges and pressure containing purposes made of materials for use at temperatures over the range -250°C and 750°C. It is primarily concerned with studbolts and studs. Appendix A and Appendix B contain information on bolting for service at elevated and low temperatures. Metric series bolting used with metric series pipe flanges, valves and fittings, and general pressure containing purposes is covered. Bolting for use with inch series pipe flanges, valves, and fittings is covered in Section 3. Values for nominal length, nominal diameter, length of thread, plain portion and reduced diameter portion are given. Appendix C outlines information to be supplied by the purchaser when making an enquiry or placing an order.
