Summary:
BS EN 60034-1:2004 is applicable to all rotating electrical machines, except those covered by other IEC standards, and identifies rated values and operating conditions. Limits of temperature and of temperature rises under various conditions are given, including those conditions at the test site. Duty type figures contain operation time at constant load reference values. This standard states that the purchaser must declare the duty numerically, as a time sequence graph, or by selecting one of the duty types (S1 to S10). Rated voltage and rated output for DC generators and AC generators are specified. Rating for periodic duty corresponds to periodic duty types S3 to S8. Table 15 lists the minimum schedule of routine tests for induction machines, synchronous machines and DC machines. In addition to the definitions supplied in this document, the definitions contained in IEC 60050(411) apply to this standard. This standard is identical with IEC 60034-1:2004.
