Abstract Describes the method of operation of a tester developed at the Road Research Laboratory to provide highway engineers with a routine method of checking the resistance of wet roads to skidding. The apparatus measures the frictional resistance between a rubber slider and the road surface. Relates its use, interpretation of results and record data, as well as maintenance and transportation.
History Produced by the Road Research Laboratory, Ministry of Transport. The RRL is now known as the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). Supersedes the 1960 edition. Currency of this document is not clear.
